I am dedicating this website and 10% of all of my merchandise profits to suicide prevention because I believe that managing our mental health and learning to cope with adveristy are essential to living a happy, well-balanced life. I hear far too often about people who have taken their life due to tremendous amounts of emotional stress, depression, and/or some other mental illness.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO):

 

“Each year approximately one million people die from suicide, which represents a global mortality rate of 16 people per 100,000 or one death every 40 seconds. In the last 45 years, suicide rates have increased by 60% worldwide. Suicide is now among the three leading causes of death among those aged 15-44 (male and female). Although suicide rates have traditionally been highest amongst elderly males, rates among young people have been increasing to such an extent that they are now the group at highest risk in a third of all countries.”

Research has also shown that these at risk individuals are not always getting the help, support, and guidance that they need. I want to do my part to help change these disturbing statistics, raise awareness for suicide prevention, and make a positive difference in the world. I hope you’ll join me.
